Instead of checking multiple forecast sources, you get one clear answer: GO, CAUTION, or NO GO. It covers wave height, wind speed, gusts, rain chance, temperature, and UV index.
GoWindow monitors 7 conditions: wave height, sustained wind speed, wind gusts, precipitation chance, high temperature, low temperature, and UV index. You choose which thresholds to enable and set your own limits for each. Wind direction is also displayed in the forecast for trip planning.
Marine forecast data (wave height, swell) extends up to 8 days. Weather data (wind, rain, temperature) extends further. GoWindow combines both sources to give you the most complete picture available. You can configure your lookout period from 1-8 days in Settings.
Yes. GoWindow is available on both iPhone and Android. The core experience is the same on both platforms — Go/No-Go dashboard, 8-day forecast, custom thresholds, multi-location monitoring, notifications, and offshore planning.
Yes. You can add locations by searching, using GPS coordinates, or dropping a pin on the map. GoWindow validates that marine wave data is available for your chosen location and will suggest the nearest coastal point with wave data if needed. This makes it easy to monitor offshore fishing grounds and cruising routes.
When enabled in Settings, GoWindow looks for consecutive days that all meet your thresholds. You configure a window of 2-5 days, and the app finds the first stretch where every day is a GO. This is ideal for planning offshore fishing trips, sailing weekends, or multi-day cruises where you need several good days in a row.
GoWindow offers two types of notifications. Status alerts notify you when conditions at any of your locations transition to GO. Daily summaries send you a morning briefing at your preferred time with your overall status, best location, and key conditions. Both can be toggled on or off independently in Settings.
GoWindow combines marine data from Open-Meteo (wave height, swell period, direction) with atmospheric weather data for wind, temperature, precipitation, and UV index. The iPhone version also uses Apple Weather for enhanced atmospheric data. Both sources aggregate data from national weather services and provide professional-grade forecasts.
Yes. Your saved locations are stored locally on your device. Location coordinates are sent only to weather API providers to retrieve forecasts. GoWindow has no analytics, no trackers, no ads, and no user accounts. We don't collect or store your data on any server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
New subscribers get 7 days of full access at no charge. After the trial, the subscription renews at $9.99/year — less than a dollar a month. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends and you won't be charged. Manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings (iPhone) or Google Play Store settings (Android).
GO means all enabled conditions are within your thresholds — it's a good day by your standards. CAUTION means one or more conditions are borderline, within 15% of your limits. NO GO means at least one condition exceeds your thresholds. These statuses are determined entirely by the limits you set, not by GoWindow's opinion.
