Privacy Policy

VCodeworks LLC ("we", "us", or "our") built the GoWindow app ("the App") as a commercial application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App.

Information We Collect

GoWindow collects the following data solely to provide its core weather-monitoring functionality:

Location Data: When you grant permission, the App accesses your device's GPS coordinates to fetch weather and marine forecasts for your area. You may also manually enter locations by searching for cities, marinas, or coastlines.
Saved Locations: The locations you add are stored locally on your device using App Groups. They are not transmitted to our servers.

How We Use Your Data

Your latitude and longitude coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo (marine and weather API) and Apple WeatherKit to retrieve forecast data.
Location data is used exclusively for weather lookups and is not stored on any server we operate.
We do not create user accounts, profiles, or track your usage across sessions.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party APIs:

Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) - Marine and weather forecast data. Open-Meteo receives latitude/longitude coordinates to return forecasts. See their terms of service.
Apple WeatherKit - Atmospheric weather data. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Data Storage

All user preferences and saved locations are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults within an App Group container.
No data is stored on external servers operated by VCodeworks.
Cached weather data is stored locally and refreshed periodically.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. The only data transmitted from your device is latitude/longitude coordinates sent to weather API providers for the sole purpose of retrieving forecast data.

Analytics & Tracking

GoWindow does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, ad networks, or tracking technologies. We do not track your behavior, create user profiles, or collect device identifiers.

Notifications

The App may send local notifications (weather status changes, daily summaries) if you opt in. These are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any external notification service.

Children's Privacy

GoWindow does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation or collect identifying information.

Your Rights

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device's Settings.
You can delete all saved data by uninstalling the App.
You can remove individual saved locations within the App's Settings tab.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
